THE NCWAA IS A NONPROFIT INFORMATION AND RESOURCE ASSOCIATION FOR CIVIL WAR ARTILLERY REENACTORS
MISSION STATEMENT
THE NCWAA PRIMARY MISSION IS THE SAFE OPERATION AND FIELD EXERCISES OF CIVIL WAR LIVING HISTORY ARTILLERY UNITS AND INDIVIDUALS. ITS SECONDARY MISSION IS TO PROMOTE AUTHENTICITY IN ARTILLERY, ACCOUTERMENTS, DRILLS, LIFE STYLES, CLOTHING, ETC, WHERE THAT AUTHENTICITY DOES NOT JEOPARDIZE SAFETY.
GOALS
1. TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND AUTHENTIC SET OF STANDARDS FOR UNIVERSAL CIVIL WAR ARTILLERY USE INCLUDING A MANUAL FOR THE INSPECTION OF CREWS AND ORDNANCE AS WELL AS QUALIFICATION OF COMPETENCY FOR DRILL AND PROPER EQUIPMENT.

2. TO PROMOTE RESEARCH, THE PRINTING OF HISTORICAL INFORMATION, CLASSES, WORKSHOPS, DRILLS AND TESTS RELATED TO CIVIL WAR ARTILLERY.

3. TO PRESENT AS AUTHENTICALLY AND SAFELY AS POSSIBLE INTERPRETATIONS, BATTLES, ENCAMPMENTS, VIGNETTES, ETC. THIS INCLUDES EDUCATING INFANTRYMEN ON USE, NEEDS AND DANGERS INVOLVING CIVIL WAR ARTILLERY.

4. TO PROMOTE THE LIFE STYLES, TRIALS, TRIBULATIONS, AND INDOMITABLE SPIRIT OF CIVIL WAR ARTILLERYMEN

5. TO COORDINATE CIVIL WAR ARTILLERY ACTIVITIES TO SUCH A DEGREE THAT HISTORICAL SITES, FORTS, STATE PARKS AND THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE WILL LOOK TO THE NCWAA FOR ASSISTANCE JUDGING A REENACTMENT UNIT OR ORGANIZATION'S FITNESS TO PERFORM CIVIL WAR ARTILLERY DUTIES BASED ON SAFETY AND AUTHENTICITY.

6. TO HELP ORGANIZE EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES SO ARTILLERY PLAYS A PROMINENT ROLE IN BOTH CAMP AND BATTLEFIELD SCENARIOS AND USES A FORMAT THAT SERVES THE VIEWING PUBLIC.

7. TO CREATE A WELL- RUN AND WELL-FINANCED ORGANIZATION THAT WILL ALLOW FOR QUALITY PROGRAMS AND GROWTH OF MEMBERSHIP WITHOUT OVERBURDENING THE MEMBERS WITH UNDUE COSTS.
